iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Mystore365.com Designs IP Camera System for Oregon Zoo to Study Giant Panda Breeding in Captivity
28 июня 2012 года в 11:42an Oregon Zoo organization dedicated to improving the conservation of species, recently expanded their efforts into Asia to study Giant Panda breeding at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas. Thanks to the advanced va033k IP camera system designed by Mystore365.com, PDXWildlife is now able to record and analyze Giant Pandas breeding behavior while in captivity. Capturing unwonted or questionable breeding habits on video will help scientists move forward in their research efforts.
The Giant Pandas current reproductive rate of one birth every two years has driven captive breeding programs to closely monitor and record the endangered species breeding techniques. Known for losing interest in mating while in captivity, Giant Pandas have stupefied animal ecologists for ages. Carefully researching the tracking their behavior is how scientists hope to learn more about the anomaly.
PDXWildlife and its team of scientists took the next step by reaching out to Mystore365.com for its proven knowledge in designing custom security solutions. As one of the leading experts in network cameras, Mystore365.com stepped in and configured a high-performance outdoor day/night apexis apm-j011-ws IP camera system to help PDXWildlife remotely monitor and record the Giant Pandas. The cameras have been installed and are presently in use at the Bifengxia Panda Reserve in Yaan China where the Conservation and Research Center is located.
Megan Martin, a staff scientist at PDXWildlife, expressed her enthusiasm about her research role in studying Giant Panda breeding: I am excited to do a comparison of behaviors during human management hours versus after hours to see the effects of human interactions on breeding behaviors.
For this project, Mystore365.com designed an effective point-to-point wireless surveillance system to address the distinct needs of the panda reserve. Once configured, Mystore365.com shipped the custom-designed network video system to China for implementation. The network video cameras are able to fully function in Yaans hot, humid, and rainy climate, and offer high resolution 1 MP images that give researchers clear views of both daytime and nighttime panda activity. At 30 frames per second, the cameras deliver extremely detailed video at the maximum frame rate a huge benefit to researchers viewing the footage.
The cameras built-in LED IR illuminators produce high-quality video in environments with little to no lighting, making them ideal for recording the habits of animals after nightfall. The wildlife reserve does not have overnight keepers, so panda behavior recorded between 4:00 pm and 8:00 am was crucial. Because pandas only mate once a year, it was essential for the IP cameras to have true day/night functionality.
According to Martin, the use of IP video has had a significant impact on the study of these beautiful, yet mystifying creatures: After-hours viewing also gives me flexibility with my research because the behavioral estrous of female pandas often comes on quite suddenly and if we were unable to hand record behaviors from the day before, we still have this data caught on video that we can then analyze.
Mystore365.com is a trusted virtual integrator that specializes in designing and configuring custom IP video surveillance systems. The companys highly experienced team offers a wealth of knowledge in the latest IP video and security technology sector and currently serves customers from all corners of the world. Mystore365.com holds several manufacturers certifications, including advanced certifications from Apexis APM-J901-Z-WS , Mobotix, Milestone and Panasonic.
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Market For Small IP Camera Installations Expected To Surge
3 июля 2012 года в 8:04According to many in the industry, the stranglehold that analog has held on small video dbpower va033k surveillance installations soon may be released. Historically, small business owners have not invested in IP network video surveillance due to cost. Instead they often purchased pre-packaged analog camera and DVR kits available from security dealers and through popular security equipment catalogs.
Now, with prices dropping in network cameras and recorders -- and more dealers and integrators familiar with IP video surveillance installations -- industry manufacturers expect to see installations with smaller camera counts turning more to networked IP video solutions.
"Small camera count systems -- which we define as 16 cameras or less -- represent at least half of the surveillance cameras being sold in the world today," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of IP video surveillance products firm Axis Communications. "Within this small camera count market, more than 90 percent still uses analog technology. Think of all that coax cabling you see in small convenience stores, gas stations, banks, small offices and hotels."
Thomas R. Cook, the vice president of sales in North America for Samsung Techwin America, said that the small market is finally about to see the price flip that it needs in order to switch from analog to IP.
"The small retail business market has always been price driven more than any other market," said Cook. "We have seen since the inception of 808 micro camera a reduction of price, but not until this year, were the IP cameras equal -- and will be lower [priced] than -- a traditional analog solution. At this point we will see a rapid trend towards IP and its technology now that it is hitting the correct price point."
Cook noted a steady drop for the average MSRP of an IP camera from Samsung, noting that five years ago, the company didn't even offer IP cameras, and just two years ago the average MSRP for one of his firms' IP cameras would have been around $1,500, while today it's close to $700, and he expects that to drop to $500 within the next three months.
Willem Ryan, the senior product marketing manager for Bosch concurs with the steady decline in pricing for IP cameras, noting that "prices for standard definition IP cameras have been decreasing over the past five years by 10 percent or more." At the same time, the feature sets on these cameras have improved dramatically as the price has dropped.
"Today you get much more camera performance for your dollar," said Axis' Nilsson. "Case in point: today we can deliver an HDTV-quality camera with on-board SD card storage for less than $230 -- whereas the industry's first HDTV camera from Axis debuted at around $1,500 three years ago. This is typical for a high-tech market were prices drop quickly for products that remain the same, but prices can be kept flat while adding lots of new innovations that address customer needs."
Manufacturers have also smartly segmented their product lines in IP cameras, offering network camera varieties for high-end clients who need the fullest feature sets and also basic units for customers who need affordable options. Bosch is one such company that has pursued this strategy, introducing its "Advantage Line" last year. It's aimed at smaller applications (typically defined as less than 16 cameras), and Ryan said the cameras start at a MSRP of $380. What's unique about the down-market move of technology is that the cameras are offered not only in standard definition but also megapixel resolution, and the cameras include basic video analytics and a basic video management solution -- both of which are elements that customers seeking security solutions would have expected to buy separately years ago.
Besides price drops for the technology (or equivalent pricing for more feature-rich and higher-resolution technology), camera experts say that there are other factors at work. Bosch's Willem Ryan notes that edge storage can reshape the cost model. "The capacity to store sufficient amounts of data at the camera via SD card can help overcome the cost of a DVR in the analog and NVR in the IP world. Combined with free software like Bosch Video Client, this creates a very cost effective H.264 ip camera system for customers."
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Tablet Sales To Overtake Laptops By 2016
5 июля 2012 года в 9:41Tablet Newsmy G27 are set to become the dominant computing form factor in the future, with tablet shipments forecast to overtake laptop sales by 2016
Shipments of tablets such as the Apple iPad are on track to surpass shipments of laptops by 2016, NPD reported 3 July.
Tablet Shift
By 2017, the firm expects PC shipments to have grown from 347 million units in 2012 to 809 million units, laptop shipments to have increased from 208 million to 293 million units, and tablets to have jumped from 121 million units to 416 million units, representing an annual growth rate of 28 percent.
NPD Senior Analyst Richard Shim believes consumer preference for mobile computing devices is shifting from notebook to tablet PCs, and new entrants are tending to launch their tablets in mature markets – such as the United States, Japan and Europe – where consumer response is the strongest.
“Services and infrastructure needed to create compelling new usage models are often better established in mature markets,” Shim added.
Google is the newest entrant to the tablet party. On 27 June it introduced the Nexus 7, a 7-inch tablet running Jelly Bean, a brand-new version of its Android operating system. While it was expected that Google would take aim at the Apple iPad – which during the first quarter of 2012 grabbed a 68 percent slice of the market, according to figures by IDC – the Nexus 7, with its starting price of $199 (£127), poses a far greater threat to the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Amazon introduced the Fire in November 2011, and the tablet sold shockingly well, enabling Amazon to jump ahead of Samsung and its Galaxy Tab. During the first quarter of 2012, however, it was unable to sustain its momentum, and Amazon’s market share fell to just over 4 percent, from nearly 17 percent the quarter before.
Ultrabook Bad News?
Joining the fray later this year will be tablets running Microsoft’s Windows 8. On 18 June, Microsoft stepped out ahead of its hardware partners and roiled up the first real excitement for these devices, with the introduction of its own tablet. The Surface, say analysts, represents Microsoft’s understanding of Apple’s tremendous share of the tablet market and its decision to take the matter of more effectively competing with Apple into its own hands.
Moving forward, Newsmy NewPad T7 tablets are expected to further evolve into stronger laptop alternatives, says NPD. Manufacturers are expected to build on tablet features, such as instant-on capabilities, long battery life and extreme portability, adding multi-core processors, growing application libraries and higher-resolution displays – a bar Apple has raised with the Retina display on the third-generation iPad – and more stable operating systems.
The tablets are also expected to encourage changes in laptops, which will further slim down, incorporate more touch-based functionality and gain higher-resolution displays.
With the iPad in the lead – where analysts expect it to remain for the next several years – NPD expects tablet shipments in mature markets to reach 110 million by 2013, exceed 150,000 by 2014 and reach 254 million units by 2017, with shipments in emerging markets Onda VX610W rising each year as well, on track to reach 162 million by 2017.
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Global tablet PC shipments to jump 63% this year: institute
7 июля 2012 года в 8:10Worldwide Global Onda Vi40 Elite tablet PC shipments to jump 63% this year: institute
Worldwide tablet computer shipments are expected to hit 120 million units this year, a jump of 63 percent from last year, amidst a slowdown in PC shipment growth, according to Taiwan's Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC) Thursday.
Tablets Onda Vi40 made by Taiwanese manufacturers are expected to account for more than 80 percent of tablets made in the world on strong sales of iPads and low-cost tablets, said Chris Hung, an analyst with the MIC, a unit of the government-sponsored Institute for Information Industry.
Taiwan's tablet shipments for the second half of this year are expected to hit 54.8 million units, a 43 percent increase from the first half of the year, on the launch of Google Inc.'s first co-branded tablet Nexus 7 with Taiwan's Asustek Computer Inc., Apple Inc.'s iPad and Microsoft's Surface tablet.
However, the shipment growth of these major brands' tablets may squeeze the markets for tablets of Taiwanese brands like Asus and Acer Inc., he said.
While the burgeoning tablet market is to blame for the slowdown in PC shipments, PC makers are counting on ultrabooks -- ultra-thin notebook PCs -- to put up a fight to reverse the trend, Huang said.
Global ultrabook shipments are expected to account for 12 percent of overall notebook shipments for the second half of this year, on launches of low-cost models priced around US$799, he said.

iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → What’s the difference between notebooks, netbooks and ultra-mobile PCs?
23 июля 2012 года в 12:02Up until the year 2008, the electronic market only sang the tune of laptops. Few others like tablet PCs, advanced zte smartphone etc came and went, able to perform only the basic computing tasks. However, laptops were there, claiming work capacity equivalent to the powerful desktops. That was two years back.
An in depth analysis
Looking into the scenario just a year before, it was completely changed. Competition had arrived in the market to topple laptops. New terms and products were on offer, confusing the buyers even more – notebooks, netbooks, ultra-mobile PCs etc. While all these came and came to stay, users are still wondering what the difference between each is. While there is no universal definition to define these new terms and products, there is however a general guideline that can help us to differentiate between these:
• Most laptops, notebooks, netbooks and ultra-mobile PCs differ in just one thing – their size. While there are no specification with regards to the sizes of these various products, it has been generally noticed that a notebook in smaller than a laptop, a netbook smaller than a notebook and ultra mobile PCs are the smallest. Form-wise though, most of these are same – a screen and keyboard attached through hinges.
• To begin with, laptops evolved into notebooks as the manufacturers were able to pack the same technology in smaller sizes. For example, Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds is too large to be considered a notebook. It is 17-inch in main screen, while 10 inch in secondary retractable screen. It is around 11 pounds and 2.1 inches in thickness. While this is portable, you would not like to carry it around the entire day now, would you? Instead, notebooks are around 12 to 17 inches in size and weigh about 5 to 6 pounds. There is not much difference, if any, between the processing speeds and other features of the two. However, manufacturers do charge a lot for the small size. Lenovo ThinkPad X300 is an example of a notebook. It is 13.3 inches and 3.2 pounds.
• Netbooks are comparatively new in the market and are considered to be smaller, less powerful and cheaper than notebooks. In most general terms, netbooks can be said to be around 12 inches in screen size and weighing only one or two pounds. These come within a range of $300 and $600. One of the example of a netbook is Asus EEE PC 4G.At last, the present of android mini PC also create a miracle in the market.
• Lastly, ultra-mobile PC (UMPC), the term usually used for a Microsoft product, is a tablet computer – meaning it is a computer screen sans keyboard. The UMPCs are usually touch-screens, coming with a stylus and physical keys along side the screen. Like netbooks, UMPC are extremely light-weight and come in sizes ranging from 4 inches to 7 inches. Some UMPC also come with slide-in or -out QWERTY keyboards. One of the examples of UMPC would be Samsung’s Q1UP-XP Ultra Mobile PC, which is 7 inch, has LCD touch-screen display and weighs two pounds. It also showcases a split QWERTY keyboard on either side of the screen.
With so much on display in the market, it really comes to your actual requirements when you are out shopping.Just like ainol tablet, a cheap but of high quality product, has covered many people's daily life!
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Android Tablets Seem To Have Lost Their Way To The Market
26 июля 2012 года в 7:04It was the James Cameron’s movie “The Abyss”, in which there were aliens who live deep in our oceans. The movie showed aliens generating gigantic waves that come towards the beaches. Then they stop at the height of skyscrapers at the coast and the aliens give human a chance to surrender. As we can see in the market, cheap tablet pc have already covered a lot in the markte.
No Major Production
The same kind of feeling is raised when I start thinking about the Android Tablets. In the previous year, at CES and other technology fairs, there was announced “The Abyss” type waves of the Android Tablets and it seemed to wash over us and create revolution in computing technology. It now well over 7 months and these waves are still over our heads. A few weeks back a news broke out that HP has forfeited form producing their Android based slate and more inspiring slates like the Notion Ink Adam are coming after a long delay, somewhere in November.
iPad Leads The Way
The people who have been ever waiting for the tablets to arrive have already bought the Apple’s iPad. Still there are people who are sanely waiting for Android based slates to arrive in the market. As a matter of fact, such people thought that within a few months there would be a number of tablets in the market and there would be a wide variety to choose from. But alas! It’s been months that there are no major slates present in the market that even come close to the functionality of the Apple iPad. And the situation shows that there won’t be many slates in the market till October 2010. And with all this delay, iPad is becoming more and more enriched in its features.
The Rumors
There is no solid information on the fact that why it is proving so hard to produce a better functioning Android based slate for the market. There have been many rumors and one if it is that the nVidia’s Tegra 2 chip is facing serious problems. Many of the slates that have been delayed/ cancelled were based on the almost failed platform of nVidia. Coming to the case of the Adam slate, the rumors are that the Pixel Qi screen is responsible for the delay. But remember that all such news is just rumors. No one till now has heard one solid reason that why these devices are taking longer than usual to come out. However,we all expect the development of technology, yet cheap tablet pc is still full of our life, such as ainol tablet in China,as well as ONDA Vi50.After all, they are around the corner in life!
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Huawei Prepares to Take On iPad Directly with Quad-core Beast for Under $500
27 июля 2012 года в 6:18Could the iPad be dethroned from an unlikely manufacturer? Up until now, some of the biggest heavyweights in the tablet industry, from Asus, Samsung, Acer and more have gone toe-to-toe with Apple's iPad, only to get knocked in the dirt. However,we can see products such as such as Newsmy NewPad T7 and android mini PC are growing fastEach time a high-end 10-inch tablet is released, it always falls short of knocking the iPad off of the hill, despite having comparable or better hardware. The only way that any of the tablet manufacturers have been able to gain any marketshare at all is by releasing a swarm of smaller, cheaper and less powerful devices. Google's new Nexus 7 seems to be positioning itself to put the squeeze on the iPad, but again, it isn't really in the same "weight-class."
Between that display, the quad-core chip and 2GB's of RAM, this thing could be a monster of performance. Of course, without getting it in our hands, and getting some benchmarks, who knows how good the product really is. Its aesthetic design is impressive. It would be more exciting if it came with Jelly Bean, but it's very likely that the Huawei engineers are working feverishly to make that happen. It would be nice to see a competitor come along and actually give Apple a run for its money while playing at the same level.
Still, the problem isn't in the hardware is it? The real reason that Apple's iPad smokes the competition in sales is marketing and reputation. It probably wouldn't matter if Huawei or any other hardware company made a product with specs that were twice as powerful as this. Most consumers don't look at those things. It's simply going to take Android some time to build public trust and prove that it does more things faster and easier than iOS. It doesn't matter that this is the reality right now. It will take competitive products to change public perception.
At least companies like ONDA are striving toward that, and Onda VX580W Standard looks like it could be a huge value, especially in the enthusiast market! Rather than that, ainol tablet can't be ignored either!Share your thoughts!
iPad to extend lead on Android tablets → Five Questions About iPad HD
28 июля 2012 года в 5:41You may have already got used to a AK802 android mini PC,or a LY-F2S All Winner A10,traditional tablet pc product, but things may be change in the future.the The market is abuzz with rumors that Apple is set to introduce iPad HD along with iPad2. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO has already mentioned that the year 2011 will be the year of iPad 2. Market Analyst believes Apple Inc may have plans to introduce a revised version of iPad with sharper screen dubbed as iPad HD. The iPad HD would feature a 9.7” inch display with a 2048×1536 resolution. The device will be targeted to Pro users. Market experts believe that there is no base for such rumors and they don’t see Apple launching such device any soon. Here are five question people need to ask themselves who expect Apple launching iPad HD. The answers to this question may be enough to quell such rumors.Ainol novo 7 paladin may get common among the young people, they still wish to realize the new things coming.
1. Why would Apple hurry into offering another 9.7-inch iPad so soon?
If Apple introduces any device such as iPad HD in 2011, it would only irk its customers who have recently purchased iPad2. iPad2 is clearly the leader in its segment and the sales of iPad2 are far better than larger Android tablets. iPad2 is clearly the leader in terms of technology and also in terms of price in its segment.
It would be an intelligent business decision, if Apple decides to introduce an iPad mini which can compete with 7-inch tablets from rival manufacturers. Also, the rumor about iPad HD is baseless as Apple Inc generally would name its premium version as iPad Pro. Besides, market experts believe, Apple Inc may soon announce launch of iPad 3 in March which can have screen with higher pixel density.
2. Is the screen technology available for production?
An iPad HD would need a screen with higher pixel density. LG, which provides displays to Apple devices is currently in the process of developing a 9.7” inch display that will offer 1.5 to 2 times brighter resolution than LCD panels. This means the screen technology is not yet available for production.
3. Does Apple or other manufacturer have a chip that would be required for such high resolution display?
A HD resolution display will need a powerful chip. The iPad 2 uses the Apple A5 chip and integrated power of PowerVR SGX 543MP2 GPU which will not be sufficient for a 2048×1536 pixels display which is 4 times bigger than current iPad2 display. A high resolution display will also need a powerful battery. The iPad 4 does not have an impressive battery life despite the fact it has a 1024×768 display.
4. What purpose will the ultra high display resolution serve?
The pictures, movies and videos might look sharper on HD screen. But the viewing the content on a HD screen also means it is going to need a good battery life. Apple will not risk introducing a device which has lesser battery life than its predecessors.Tablet pc comparison may not get stopped whenever people prefer to use it!
